Thursday Liv Racing Xtra started the season 2022 in the Volta Comunitat Valenciana Fèmines with a tough first stage with three categorised climbs and a hilly final. The race exploded on the final climb, where a group of 30 riders took off. Unfortunately without any Liv Racing Xtra riders.
“After an acceleration of Annemiek van Vleuten on the final climb the peloton was shattered into 1000 pieces. Unfortunately our riders missed the first group today. The girls told this stage was a real shock for the legs as first race of the season. Tomorrow we will try to race aggressive again”, sports director Giorgia Bronzini told after the stage.
The stage win went to world champion Elisa Balsamo. Jeanne Korevaar was the first of the Liv Racing Xtra riders in a 58th place.
