Career overview

Van Vleuten is one of the greatest riders in women’s cycling history, with a career defined by climbing dominance, time-trial strength and relentless stage-race control. She won the Tour de France Femmes in 2022, the Giro d’Italia Women four times and La Vuelta Femenina in 2023, completing a rare run of Grand Tour success late in her career. Her one-day palmarès included two road race world titles, two world time-trial titles, Liège-Bastogne-Liège Femmes, Strade Bianche, the Tour of Flanders and Olympic time-trial gold in Tokyo. Van Vleuten retired at the end of the 2023 season after her final campaign with Movistar.
