Intermarché-Wanty confirms continued partnership for 2024 season

Intermarché has reaffirmed its commitment to the cycling world by continuing as the title partner for the Intermarché-Wanty World Team in 2024. This extension solidifies the partnership that began at the end of 2020, supporting the team’s ascent to the World Tour level, the pinnacle of international cycling. The partnership has been a success, with the team achieving 53 victories, including six Grand Tour stage wins and a historic victory at Gent-Wevelgem, culminating in a top position in the UCI World Ranking in January 2023.

The commitment of Intermarché, part of the Les Mousquetaires group that includes 1800 supermarkets in France and Belgium, goes beyond just sponsorship. It symbolises a shared belief in values such as teamwork, self-improvement, and proximity, mirroring the ethos of both the team and its business club, Want You Club.

The 2024 season will see Intermarché continue its association with the Wanty group, a Binche-based company specialising in construction, demolition, and road works. This partnership also extends to the Continental Development Team Wanty-ReUz-Technord.

Stéphane Pouget, Intermarché’s company manager responsible for sponsorship and partnerships, expressed pride in continuing this alliance. He highlighted the shared values of team spirit, self-improvement, and proximity, anticipating new challenges and victories in the upcoming World Tour races.

Jean-François Bourlart, CEO of Continuum Sports, shared his enthusiasm, noting the growth achieved through the partnership and the ambition for further expansion. The relationship has led to the recent doubling of Intermarché’s Belgian outlets and the expansion of the cycling structure, including a Continental Development Team. Bourlart is confident that this extended partnership will enhance their position in the World Tour, bringing many memorable moments in the future seasons.
