Jack Seehafer to assist DS Stam

The Boels Dolmans Cycling Team is very happy to announce the arrival of the new second DS for the 2020 season. Jack Seehafer will assist DS Danny Stam for the next year. Time to get (more) acquainted with the experienced American.

Who is Jack Seehafer? 

I am 47 years old, married for 17years, and have a 4 year old daughter. 

 

What does (the world of) cycling mean to you? 

Cycling has been my lifeblood. I have been involved in some form of cycling ever since I was a small child. For the last 12 years I have seen cycling from a management and Director role with both men’s and women’s teams. I have used the bike as an escape, a way to find freedom, and a way to earn money. Being with the worlds top team and all the possibilities that are available has been truly exciting and I look forward to what the future holds.

What was your previous position/ job? 

I previously worked as the women’s national team road coach and program director for USA Cycling (2013-2018). I oversaw all programming choices for Junior and Development athletes up through our Elite,World, and Olympic Team Athletes. 

 

What will be your role with the team?

My role with the team will be to assist Danny as a second Sports Director and help fill any gaps as we continually strive to be the best in the world. 

 

What are you especially looking forward to? 

I truly look forward to seeing the team members reach individual goals through out the season as they strive for Olympic success in Tokyo.

 

What will be the biggest challenge in your role as DS and for the team in 2020?

The biggest challenge is always winning, and winning as a team. In an Olympic year we always see the level of racing rise up an extra notch, and as this team is the best in the world, they will be racing with a ‘target’ on their back making the wins even more precious

 

Do you have a message to our fans and followers? 

Watch closely, and watch this team often. You will see success from these athletes on the road and track in Tokyo, and you can be sure to see the Orange and Black of Boels-Dolmans on the podium from February through October! They will excite, they will impress, and they will execute racing like no other team as they prove they are the best!
