Léa Rondel joins Ma Petite Entreprise for 2027

Léa Rondel will leave Mayenne Monbana My Pie at the end of the 2026 season to join Ma Petite Entreprise for 2027, continuing a rapid rise that has taken her from speed skating and roller racing to the professional peloton.

The 20-year-old French rider turned professional with Mayenne this season after racing for Baloise WB Ladies in 2025, and has already experienced both the Tour of Flanders and La Vuelta Femenina during her first year at ProTeam level.

Rondel’s route into cycling began away from the road

Rondel built much of her early sporting background through speed skating and long-track racing. Cycling initially became a substitute when Covid restrictions prevented her from training on ice in the Netherlands, and she began riding more regularly alongside her brother Mathys Rondel, who went on to finish 11th overall at the 2026 Giro d’Italia.

Her progression on the bike accelerated quickly. After racing with UVCA Troyes in 2024 and Baloise WB Ladies the following year, she stepped into the professional ranks with Mayenne Monbana My Pie in 2026. She finished 53rd at the Tour of Flanders and later made her Vuelta Femenina debut, where she was among the riders trying to bridge to the early break on Stage 6.

Ma Petite Entreprise move shaped by environment as well as racing

Rondel describes herself as a rider who increasingly enjoys harder races and climbing, with the more selective terrain suiting the physical durability she carried across from skating. Her long-term ambition remains the Tour de France Femmes, but she has been clear that she wants to reach that level when she is ready to race it at full capacity rather than simply appear on the start line.

She said the atmosphere within Ma Petite Entreprise was central to the decision to move for 2027, pointing to the balance between a professional set-up, a competitive culture and giving riders space to take their own opportunities.

“It’s important to feel good mentally in order to perform on the bike,” Rondel said, explaining that the team’s positive environment was one of the factors that attracted her.

The transfer gives Ma Petite Entreprise another young French rider with experience of top-level racing, while Rondel gets the chance to continue her development in a team she has already watched closely throughout the 2026 season.
