Liv AlUla Jayco has completed its women’s Continental squad for 2027 with seven new signings from Australia, the Netherlands and Italy. The final two arrivals, Alessia Zambelli and Elisa Bianchi, join five riders announced earlier in the week, giving GreenEDGE Cycling an 11-rider development roster for next season.

The recruitment covers different stages of a rider’s career, from 17-year-old Dutch prospect Loïs de Jong to Elise Uijen, who has already won at WorldTour level. Six of the seven newcomers have signed through 2028; Uijen’s agreement covers 2027 only.

Italian duo complete the eleven-rider squad

GreenEDGE confirmed the final two arrivals on Friday, 30 October. Zambelli, 20, arrives after a season in which she produced three top-ten stage results at the Giro d’Italia Women and briefly wore the white jersey as the race’s leading young rider.

It is a particularly useful background for the Australian organisation. Zambelli has already experienced the intensity of the Women’s WorldTour, but will be able to develop within a smaller squad rather than being expected to ride at that level throughout the season.

Bianchi, 18, brings a different profile. The Italian recorded more than ten podium finishes in 2026, principally on her domestic calendar. She also won gold with Italy in the junior mixed team relay at the 2025 European Championships and finished fifth in the junior road race at the same event.

“I admire the way they support young riders without rushing their development,” Bianchi said of the team. Zambelli similarly pointed to the opportunities for young riders to gain experience and the support structure around them.

Australian champions Sammons and Parslow sign until 2028

The first two arrivals were announced on 28 October. Sophia Sammons, 21, won the Australian under-23 individual time-trial championship in January and followed it with a top-ten overall finish at the Volta a Portugal Feminina.

Sammons has been explicit about her ambitions, explaining that she wants to improve her racing skills in Europe before eventually progressing to the organisation’s Women’s WorldTour team and competing for Australia at the Olympic Games. Her national time-trial title adds another specialist ability to a group that already contains riders with experience on demanding stage-race courses.

Neve Parslow, 18, joins as Australia’s junior road race and time-trial champion. She finished second at the inaugural junior Liège-Bastogne-Liège and was just outside the top ten in both the road race and individual time trial at the 2026 World Championships in Montréal. Her contract, like Sammons’, runs for two seasons.

Three Dutch signings offer a mix of youth and experience

GreenEDGE’s 29 October announcement introduced Mirthe Mons, Loïs de Jong and Elise Uijen. Of the three, Mons, 18, supplied one of the strongest performances at the junior World Championships, finishing fifth in the Montréal road race. She was also tenth at junior Liège-Bastogne-Liège and recorded several top-ten results in the Dutch Toekomstcup.

De Jong will be the youngest rider in the squad at 17. She won both the general and mountains classifications at Spain’s Emakume Gazteen Itzulia and also competes in cyclocross during winter. Both she and Mons have signed until the end of 2028.

Uijen, at 23, provides an important contrast. She won a stage of the 2023 Setmana Ciclista Volta Comunitat Valenciana and finished seventh at the WorldTour-level Trofeo Alfredo Binda that year. She joins on a one-year contract, seeking to rebuild momentum after her earlier results showed she could compete against the best riders in the peloton.

The seven newcomers will join four riders retained from this year’s Continental team. GreenEDGE’s completed 11-rider list is:

Development pathway already delivering WorldTour graduates

Team manager Eric van den Boom described the roster as a blend of promising young riders and more experienced competitors ready to tackle larger international races. The seven new signings include junior championship performers, riders with professional wins and athletes already accustomed to WorldTour-level racing.

The team’s role as a bridge to the senior squad is already visible. Sidney Swierenga is stepping up to the GreenEDGE WorldTour team in 2027, as is Erin Boothman, providing a route for the next group of Continental riders to follow.

That is particularly relevant for Sammons and Mons, who have spoken openly about WorldTour ambitions. Their development will now take place alongside Uijen and Zambelli, who bring higher-level racing experience, and four returning riders familiar with the team’s structure.
