Marlen Reusser surprised the GC group yesterday with a well-timed attack that saw her unable to be closed down. She pushed on and secured 29 seconds advantage going into today’s stage. The Swiss rider will be tough to drop on what is one of the races with the most climbing in the last few years. The Giro Donne 2022 Stage 9 and 2023 Alpes Gresivaudan Classic are the few examples with more metres of elevation in a single stage or race. We’ve seen GC riders lose time as well, the likes of Realini and Garcia have over a minute to close down on Reusser to get into the leader’s jersey by the end of today.
