Yesterday saw Cecille Uttrup Ludwig take the stage win into Stirling with an uphill sprint. She was the only rider able to kick into an extra gear with the line in sight and comfortably beat Soraya Paladin and Sofia Bertizzolo. The Dane now leads the GC going into today’s stage which finishes at the top of Willunga Hill. We’re likely to see FDJ-Suez go all in for a GC win for Uttrup Ludwig now and try to manage the race. AG Insurance-Soudal have been very visible in the race so far and they have the QoM holder of Willunga Hill in Sarah Gigante, also the only other women’s rider to take a win there. Amanda Spratt is also within sight of a GC win here and is 10″ back with exactly those bonus seconds available on the line. She would love to take a win again after finishing 2nd last season.
