Drops Cycling Team are delighted to announce that Joss Lowden will continue representing the team in 2020.

The thirty-two year old, who joined Drops in May this year recently claimed the bronze medal with Great Britain in the first ever Mixed Team Relay event at the World Championships in Yorkshire.

“There was no doubt in my mind about staying with the team and continuing to build on what was a successful and really enjoyable season.” Lowden said. “We have a really strong mix of girls both joining and staying and some excellent sponsors so I am sure it’s going to be a really great year.”

Having suffered a broken elbow from a high speed crash in the Tour of California, Lowden bounced back to gain valuable experience at the Tour of Scotland, Ladies Tour of Norway and Giro Toscana where she was key in helping the team leaders gain strong GC positions. In 2020, stage races that contain time trials will be key to her programme.

“Joss fitted seamlessly into the team when she joined us earlier this year.” Team Director, Bob Varney commented. “Although a ‘mature student’ to the road, her enthusiasm and drive to succeed, allied with her undoubted natural talent, indicates she still has huge potential for further growth. In my opinion Joss could develop into a true world class performer and I’m delighted that she has chosen to continue on that pathway with Drops.”
