Lotto Dstny Ladies have finalised their team for the 2025 season with the signing of 18-year-old Irish rider, Lucy Benezet-Minns. The young talent, fresh from the junior ranks, is excited to embark on her new journey at the elite level.
“I’m really excited for this new step,” Benezet-Minns shared. “It will be special to try out some bigger races. As I come from the juniors, I still need to learn and discover a lot. I became national road and time trial champion in Ireland, which was nice. I had a good end of the year with winning the points race at the Junior Track European Championships. I want to discover more about which type of rider I am and try out as many courses as possible.”
Her signing comes after a standout season where she not only became Irish national champion in both road and time trial but also claimed victory in the points race at the Junior Track European Championships. Benezet-Minns, who has shown promise across multiple disciplines, hinted that she might continue to balance track and road racing.
“Probably Iโll keep combining track with road. Next year Iโll fully focus on cycling for one year, and then after that Iโll see if I will start my university studies in History and Politics, maybe from remote,” she said.
Sports Manager Kurt Van de Wouwer expressed his satisfaction with the teamโs latest addition, acknowledging the potential for Benezet-Minns to develop further under their guidance. “Lucy showed her strong capabilities at the World Championships juniors. She still has to learn a lot, but we will guide her in that, and she will get the chance to grow step by step here. This signing fits perfectly in our vision to give a chance to young talents,” Van de Wouwer said.
