2024 Maglia Rosa Giro d'Italia Women

On International Women’s Day, the Giro d’Italia Women’s 2024 edition’s symbol, organised by RCS Sport for the first time, was revealed at Milan’s Rinascente in Piazza Duomo.

The jersey, sponsored by Polti and crafted by Castelli, showcases the Italia. It logo, Enit’s digital hub. RTL 102.5, the event’s radio partner, featured female voices on all programmes and news bulletins today, emphasising the significance of International Women’s Day. One of the primary discussions centred around the Giro d’Italia Women’s new Maglia Rosa.

At the event, attended by various dignitaries and personalities, Francesca Polti, President and CEO of Polti Group, expressed her enthusiasm. She stated that RCS Sport recognised her commitment to genuine inclusion, beyond gender equality, valuing diversity as an asset. She affirmed the importance of inclusivity in the Maglia Rosa for all, regardless of gender.

2007 World Champion Marta Bastianelli highlighted the significance of presenting the jersey on International Women’s Day, celebrating women’s achievements. She emphasised that wearing the Maglia Rosa or winning a stage is a dream for all female cyclists.

Urbano Cairo, President of RCS MediaGroup, underlined the global recognition of the Maglia Rosa as a symbol of the Giro d’Italia and the Giro d’Italia Women. Associating a historic cycling brand like Polti with the Maglia Rosa enhances its prestige, he said. Cairo reiterated RCS Group’s commitment to promoting women’s cycling.

Paolo Bellino, Managing Director at RCS Sport, discussed the importance of the Giro d’Italia Women in advocating against gender violence. He highlighted the inclusion of a red background on the Maglia Rosa’s collar as a symbol of awareness. Additionally, he noted that the race will introduce new territories, from Lombardy to Abruzzo, through televised coverage broadcast worldwide.
