Maria Novolodskaya becomes a European Champion

The Russian cyclist María Novolodskaya from our team Cogeas Mettler Look won the omnium test yesterday Tuesday, October 13, at the Attilio Pavesi velodrome in Fiorenzuola d’Arda, on the last day of the European Junior and U23 Track Championships. The surprise of the day was the loss of all the Italians who were going to compete due to a case of Covid in their delegation, deciding not to compete in any race.

After defeating the Ukrainian Yulia Biriukova with a distant attack, the Russian Maria Novolodoskaya clearly prevailed – winning a lap – in the tempo race and in the elimination, presenting herself as the most outstanding of the final score. Behind Novolodoskaya, they were located with 167, Wiktoria Pikulik (Poland) with 128, and Olivija Baleisyte (Lithuania) with 109. By the way, Novolodoskaya not only controlled, but also attacked to gain a lap and confirm her dominance in this omnium.

Congratulations to Maria Novolodskaya for her new victory that fills our team with pride!
