Maud Rijnbeek back on the bike

Maud Rijnbeek was the second rider this season to break her collarbone. We check in with the first year pro to see how she is doing.

I crashed in Scheldeprijs after 75 kilometres of racing. It was a hectic race from the start with lots of wind and echelons. When we were almost at the finish for the local laps we had a short cobbles sector. A girl in front of me crashed and I couldn’t avoid her.

Maud broke his collarbone but the fracture could not be operated on.

I had to rest for ten days. After one and half weeks I did a little tour on my city bike. I was so happy to be back on a bike!

Maud started riding outside on her Pinarello a week ago and her recovery is going well.

I hope that I will get back to my old training level soon. I won’t put a date on it and that’s why I don’t know my schedule just yet. I hope to get some good training days in at the KNWU U23 training camp from 13 May and get ready for new races with NXTG.
