Mylène de Zoete and Shari Bossuyt took part in the European Track Cycling Championhips for U23 riders in Italy. Shari won a silver medal in the points race. In the scratch she attacked but unfortunately was caught again. In the final sprint she was ninth.
Mylène took home a bronze medal in the elimination race. She finished sixth in the omnium after strong perfomances in the tempo race (second) and elimination race (third). Together with Maike van der Duin she was sixth in the madison.
There was also bad news. Shari crashed hard in the elimination race. She was diagnosed with a concussion and a broken collarbone. She will have surgery on Wednesday in Herentals. Our medical staff will closely monitor her recovery from the concussion.
