Mikayla Harvey first in U23 classification at Strade Bianche

Mikayla Harvey finished first in the U23 rankings at today’s Strade Bianche, an outstanding performance from our 21-year-old New Zealand rider.

Mikayla’s season got off to a strong start this year, having taken second place in the New Zealand ITT championships. Only in her fourth day of racing since the season resumed last month, her performance today at Strade Bianche has shown that she has maintained her form from earlier this year as she continues along her path of development with the team.

She finished today’s race in Siena with a select handful of other riders, 5:21 minutes down on Van Vleuten, the winner of the race. Considering the high-class field in attendance at this year’s race, which featured four current and former Road World Champions in the top 10, her performance today was extremely strong. To finish 12th is a remarkable achievement for our young New Zealander, and together with teammate Leah Thomas’ third place, this caps off a very successful day for Équipe Paule Ka in Tuscany.
