Nina Lavenu extends AG Insurance-Soudal contract through 2029

Nina Lavenu has signed a three-year contract extension with AG Insurance-Soudal, keeping the French rider with the Belgian organisation through the end of 2029. She will remain part of its development team in 2027 rather than move immediately into the Women’s WorldTour squad.

The new agreement gives Lavenu time to build on her first seasons in the U23 ranks. AG Insurance-Soudal have emphasised that next year will be focused on gaining experience and developing gradually, with no immediate pressure to step up to the elite team.

A national title and growing experience

Lavenu already has a notable result from 2026. In June, she won the French amateur road race championship, sprinting to the title after an attacking team performance. Teammate Amandine Muller finished third, completing a successful national championships weekend for the AG Insurance-Soudal development squad.

Earlier in the season, Lavenu was second behind teammate Anna Bruneel in the U23 race at Klein-Sinaai, having been part of the attacks that helped shape the finale. She has also gained experience racing alongside more established riders on the road, something the team intends to build on over the next three seasons.

Lavenu was already part of AG Insurance-Soudal’s 2025 development line-up, with an emphasis on technical one-day racing. The contract extension provides continuity as she continues adapting to more demanding competition.

Lavenu welcomes three-year commitment

“I’m really happy to have extended my contract and excited to continue this journey with the team,” Lavenu said in the official announcement. “With the first year still focused on development, I’ll have the opportunity to progress at my own pace, gain valuable experience and grow into this new chapter step by step. I’m looking forward to what lies ahead!”

The decision also reinforces the distinction between the organisation’s development and WorldTour programmes. Lavenu has secured a longer-term future with AG Insurance-Soudal, but the team’s immediate plan is for her to race at development level in 2027 and continue building towards further opportunities.
