No Strade Bianche this weekend

The next competitive event will be the Gent-Wevelgem on March 29th

The seasonal debut of the Astana Women’s Team in an Italian race will not take place during this weekend as initially expected: the complex situation due to the spread of the coronavirus COVID-19 and the measures taken by the Italian government have forced the organizers to cancel both the Strade Bianche and the Trofeo Oro in Euro, races scheduled respectively on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th of March and in which the Italian-Kazakh team should have participated; in addition, for the same reasons, the postponement of the Trofeo Alfredo Binda of Cittiglio from Sunday 22th of March to Tuesday 2nd of June was also confirmed.

Considering these news, the Astana Women’s Team athletes will remain without competitions for about three weeks and will resume racing on Sunday 29th of March in Belgium at the Gent-Wevelgem: however during this time the team will continue to monitor and protect the health of riders and staff, taking into account all the international developments on the spread of the virus that could further modify the racing activity.
