Ready for Amstel Gold Race

After a late cancellation in 2020 NXTG is excited to be showing themselves on Dutch roads in the Amstel Gold Race on Sunday. The course has been altered to seven laps on a 16.9-kilometre long course. Every lap the following hills must be climbed: Geulhemmerberg, Bemelerberg and Cauberg. After a solid preparation from our own team base at Watersley Sports and Talentpark Rozemarijn, Julia, Ilse, Amelia and Catalina will done the NXTG kit for this home race.

Neo pro Ilse:

I am really looking forward to my very first Amstel Gold Race. I expect it to be a really tough race on Sunday because every lap has three climbs. It will be a typical race of attrition where the peloton becomes smaller and smaller. It will be a battlefield. I will first and foremost enjoy this unique opportunity. It’s pretty cool to line up in the same peloton as all these big stars and in my own country makes it double special. I can learn so much in these races!

Wim Stroetinga will be the sports directors for the Amstel Gold Race:

I think it will be a fast and aggressive race where a breakaway might even stand a chance. The course will make it a nervous affair. The many climbs wil also make it a very hard race. Our riders must try and position themselves well and hopefully they can show themselves. It will be a great learning oppportunity to be able to ride such a prestigious race as Amstel Gold Race at such a young age.

You can watch the race from the start on NOS.nl and from 11am CET on GCN+, Eurosport, Sporza and NOS tv
