NXTG Team Preview: Le Samyn

On Tuesday Maud, Catalina, Rozemarijn, Mylène, Amelia, Emily and Britt line up for the one-day race Le Samyn. For Rozemarijn, Mylène, Emily and Britt it will be their season debut. For Maud it will be her first race as an elite rider.

I expect it to be a hard race, especially with those cobbles. I think the race will be nervous leading up to the local laps and that it will be suffering from there on. I am happy to be racing again and am really looking forrward to it. The sensations are good and I will try to help the other girls as much as I can and to get as far as I can in this race.

Le Samyn is a much shorter race than Omloop Het Nieuwsblad with 92,5 kilometres but with the cobbled sectors on the local laps and the steep Cote de Calvaire in every lap it will be a hard race nonetheless. Sports director Kelvin Dekker.

It’s a short race but a nice one. It’s also a serious race if you look at the teams and riders lining up. There are many cobbles and because it’s short it will be explosive. We must stay focused straight from the start and stay focused. On Sunday and Monday we already did a recon of the course and the riders are enthusiastic about it. We have a nice team where most girls will make their debut.

You can watch le Samyn live on Sporza, GCN+, RTBF and Eurosport from 2pm CET. Finish is expected around 2.50pm.
