Fans of Puck Pieterse will have to wait a little longer to see her back in the cyclocross field. The 22-year-old Dutch rider, who took a step back after a busy mountain bike and road season, revealed that she plans to return in mid-December. Her comeback is set to take place either in Herentals on the 14th of December or Namen on the 15th.

Speaking during an appearance at the Wielergala in Utrecht earlier this week, Pieterse shared her upcoming plans with the media. The next day, during the live broadcast of the Nacht van Woerden, she reiterated the timing of her return. Pieterse was in Woerden to support her sister, Isa Pieterse, who was racing in the womenโ€™s competition. Both Pieterse sisters were part of the post-race celebration, alongside fellow stars Marianne Vos, Lorena Wiebes, and Fem van Empel.

“Theyโ€™ll have to wait a bit longer for me,โ€ Pieterse said with a smile. โ€œIโ€™ll likely be back at the start line in early December. As things stand, it will either be in Herentals on the 14th or Namen on the 15th. Theyโ€™ll have to be patient for now.โ€

Pieterse had a strong presence last season, racing ten times in the cyclocross calendar and never finishing off the podium. Although she had to settle for second place to Fem van Empel or Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado in her first seven races, Pieterse ended her campaign with an impressive three straight wins in Gavere, Diegem, and Hulst.
