Lauren Stephens capped a dominant week at the 2025 Tour of the Gila by securing the overall title, sprint and mountains classifications, and helping Aegis Cycling Mixed Team take the team prize. The final stage to Piños Altos saw Aegis sweep the podium, with Frankie Hall taking her first UCI stage win ahead of Stephens and Emma Langley.
Stephens marked the moves on the Gila Monster’s decisive climbs and had the freedom to let teammate Hall sprint for the line after a controlled display throughout the day. Langley’s third place on the stage confirmed her third on GC, while 17-year-old Sidney Swierenga defended second overall after finishing just two seconds behind Langley on the final climb. Swierenga also retained the white jersey as Best Young Rider, rounding off a remarkable week for the Canadian.
For Hall, the stage win was a milestone in her young career and a fitting conclusion to a dominant team performance.
“My first Pro UCI win yesterday taking 🥇 🥈 🥉 on the final Queens Stage of Tour of the Gila, rounding off an epic week with the girls,” Hall said. “A fairly last-minute mixed team, we collected the GC win, Team GC, Sprints and QOM jersey, as well as 3rd GC, 9th GC. A week of learnings and developments day on day, a real commitment to each other for the ultimate outcome. A showcase of what the right environment and mentality can do.”
She added: “I’m excited to build on this and go straight into Tour de Bloom and see what more we can do together.”
Fount Cycling Guild and PatoBike BMC rounded out the team classification podium, but Aegis were unmatched across all five stages. Stephens now adds a second Tour of the Gila title to her career, with three stage wins and total control from start to finish.
