The Tour Féminin International des Pyrénées comes into 2024 with a new name after a disastrous 2023 edition, whilst known as the CIC-Tour Féminin Pyrénées. That race became infamous for ignoring rider safety as the opening stage saw live traffic on the race route as it circled around the finishing town. The next day saw more live traffic on supposed closed roads and the inevitable rider strike as a result. The riders simply stopped in the road as a new plan was devised. With a stage finish on a dead-end road up Hautacam, the race was neutralised all the way to the base of the climb as rider safety couldn't be guaranteed.

Karolina Perekitko achieved another impressive result last Sunday at the Alpes Grésivaudan Classic (1.1), securing her eighth Top 10 finish of the 2024 season....

The first Alpes Gresivaudan Classic was an epic edition. The pre-race favourite Evita Muzic took the win but it wasn't so simple as that sounds! Eglantine Rayer, who was still a junior back in 2022, pushed Muzic all the way to the finish line. Just 2 seconds behind was the German rider Clara Koppenberg before a larger gap to 4th for Adele Normand.

The GP Ciudad de Eibar kicked off in 2018 at the Spanish national level as part of their extensive domestic calendar. Sara Martin won that inaugural edition whilst racing for Sopela. The following season saw Lorena Llamas Garcia win for Movistar before Covid called a halt to the race in 2020.

Itzulia Women comes straight off the back of the Vuelta Femenina and covers the ground that the old Emakumeen Bira used to. The Basque Country has pretty much always had a major women's tour and the current incarnation is the Itzulia Women. It went straight into the Women's WorldTour calendar when it came into inception in 2022
