Team BikeExchange-Jayco women’s squad are ready to tackle the ‘craziness’ of the Belgian classics head-on as they continue their hunt for victories at Dwars door Vlaanderen.
The six-rider squad will boast five Australians as the experienced Amanda Spratt comes into the fold in a road captaincy role. Fast finishers Alex Manly and Ruby Roseman-Gannon will be keen to be in the mix should the day come down to a reduced sprint finale, with the team ready to adopt and aggressive approach.
The 10th edition of the women’s Dwars door Vlaanderen will see the peloton face a tough course that includes 10 hills and five cobblestone sections over the course of 120km.
Team BikeExchange-Jayco Line-Up:
Jess Allen (AUS)
Georgia Baker (AUS)
Alex Manly (AUS)
Nina Kessler (NED)
Ruby Roseman-Gannon (AUS)
Amanda Spratt (AUS)
Ruby Roseman-Gannon:
“We’ve got every Australian in the team riding on Wednesday and we’re ready to give it everything we’ve got!
We know it’s going to be a hectic race, as it always is in these Belgian classics, but we’re excited for the wind, cobbles and craziness.”
Martin Vestby (Sport Director):
“We want to have an aggressive and opportunistic race using our team’s strengths and trying to set things up for a breakaway opportunity.
We have two main goals for the race: first be a part of the action and initiative breaks, and second, race on the front foot.”
