Team Coop-Hitec Products announces pair of British signings

Monica-Greenwood-2023-Sheffield-GP

Team Coop-Hitec Products announced the signing of two British riders today – Monica Greenwood and April Tacey. Both riders join the Norwegian team from British Continental teams. Greenwood joins from DAS-Handsling and Tacey from Lifeplus-Wahoo. They are both likely to add some fast finishes to races and help secure strong results for their new team in 2023. They might be joining Josie Nelson on the team for 2024 for a British triumvirate but Nelson so far hasn’t confirmed her 2024 plans.

Monica Greenwood, a former coach of the Great Britain women’s track team, won the National Road Series this season. A key part of the domestic calendar, it’s not the only set of strong results that Greenwood has had this year. She was also 4th at Leiedal Koerse and 5th at GP Eco-Struct and those results clearly caught the eye of Coop-Hitec Products. There have also been 4 victories in non-UCI Belgian races too and the Sheffield GP. She will add experience to a young Coop-Hitec Products team, especially as the bulk of their new signings are under-23 riders.

April Tacey has been part of the Drops/Lifeplus-Wahoo for the last 4 seasons and now 22, the Brit has decided it’s time to race with a new team. Another fast finisher, Tacey has largely played a supporting role this year but has a best result of 9th at Scheldeprijs. Moving to pastures new should give her the opportunity to race for her own opportunities a bit more. Tacey has signed for the 2024 and 2025 seasons.

Out of the 2023 line-up, it’s been confirmed so far that Lucie Jounier and Kerry Jonker are both looking for new teams in 2024. More departures are probably likely but the team has already confirmed the signings of Camilla Rånes Bye, Stina Kagevi, Aidi Gerde Tuisk and Eline van Rooijen for the 2024 season and beyond.
