Bad luck for Liv Racing in the Ronde van Vlaanderen. The team was perfectly positioned in the race, but in the deep final, at the foot of the Oude Kwaremont, team leader Lotte Kopecky had to deal with a technical problem. Our Belgian champion had to let go of the leading group. Annemiek van Vleuten wrote the Belgian top classic to her name.
“The chain fell off right before climbing the Oude Kwaremont”, explains Lotte Kopecky. “A real shame that this happened. We were doing an excellent job as a team, were continuously at the front at the decisive moments. I also felt very strong. After the technical, I was able to continue on the road on a teammate’s bike <Soraya Paladin>, but unfortunately, I was slightly too far behind to be able to play a significant role. We all know that you have to be at the front on the Oude Kwaremont.”
