The Itzulia Women debuts in the WorldTour this weekend (Friday 13 – Sunday 15)

Returning to the path created in recent years with the Clásica de San Sebastián, OCETA promotes -with the same live TV, infrastructure and routes very similar to those of its men’s races- the first edition of the Itzulia, over three very demanding days – Fortunately, it seems that with good weather – which will delight the climbers.

The three Basque territories -Álava, Vizcaya and Guipúzcoa, in order- will host the stages of the race, starting with Vitoria – Labastida (Friday 13), where the climbs of Zaldiaran (3rd), Mirador de Rivas (2nd) and Herrera (3rd) before a tough final slope (ramps up to 20%).

The second day (Saturday 14) awaits a tough commitment in Mallabia, with Areitio (3rd) -like the previous day, port of departure-, Montecalvo (3rd), Balcón de Vizcaya (3rd), Milloi (3rd), Trabakua (3rd ) and Karabieta (1st), before another uphill finish. For Sunday the 15th there will be a Klasikoa: a route identical to the one where Van Vleuten won in 2021, with 139 km and passes through Aia (3rd), Jaizkibel (2nd), Gurutze (3rd) and Murgil Tontorra (2nd).
