The 2021 Tour of Britain is the first chance for me to go to a race since the women’s road race during the 2019 World Championships in Harrogate. That was just a smidge under 2 years ago now! With COVID preventing any British races from taking place in 2020 and affecting the calendar in 2021 too, this has been the first opportunity. There have been other races taking place in Britain in 2021 but unfortunately, none of them has been local, until today!
After dissecting the stage route, I managed to get two bites at the cherry. The first location was as the peloton headed out of Congleton and up the very start of the KoM. Some quick navigation and Chelford was reached for the second location of the day. Both spots saw riders coming past at speed!
