Valeriya Kononenko
Valeriya Kononenko is a Ukrainian cyclist and one of her country’s most accomplished time-trial specialists. A five-time Ukrainian elite time-trial champion, she has competed internationally for almost two decades across road and track cycling. Kononenko’s major results include overall victory at the Princess Anna Vasa Tour, second at the Chrono des Nations and European and World Championship medals as a junior.

Career overview
Kononenko emerged internationally by winning the European junior time-trial title in 2007 and taking silver at the Junior World Championships. She later became one of Ukraine’s leading elite riders against the clock, winning national time-trial titles in 2013, 2018, 2019, 2021 and 2023. Her professional career included spells with S.C. Michela Fanini Rox, Lviv Cycling Team, Ciclotel and Colnago CM Team. Kononenko won two editions of VR Women ITT and claimed the Grand Prix Cappadocia and Grand Prix Velo Erciyes in 2020. She finished second at the 2022 Chrono des Nations before winning the Princess Anna Vasa Tour overall in 2023. Still competing in 2026, she finished second in the Ukrainian time-trial championship and sixth in the road race.
