Charlotte Kool of DSM-Firmenich PostNL powered to her second consecutive stage win at the 2024 Tour de France Femmes, claiming victory in a tightly contested sprint finish in Rotterdam. The 68km stage, starting in Dordrecht, was marked by early crashes and high speeds, splitting the peloton before eventually regrouping. A solo attack by Audrey De Keersmaeker at 40km briefly disrupted the chase but was neutralized by the sprinters’ teams 9.8km from the finish.
In the final kilometres, SD Worx-Protime led the charge for Lorena Wiebes, setting up a strong lead-out that saw her launch her sprint with 250 metres to go. However, Kool, positioned perfectly behind Marianne Vos, surged through a gap in the closing metres, overtaking Wiebes to secure victory. Vos rounded out the podium in third.
With this win, Kool extended her lead in the general classification to 14 seconds over Anniina Ahtosalo and Wiebes, with Vos sitting 16 seconds back in fourth. The Dutch rider remains in commanding form as the race heads into its next stages.
