Petra Stiasny signs with Human Powered Health through 2027

Human Powered Health have strengthened their climbing ranks with the signing of Swiss talent Petra Stiasny on a contract running until the end of 2027. The 23-year-old, from Wรคdenswil near Zurich, makes the move from Roland Le Dรฉvoluy and will provide the team with another option in the mountains and stage races.

Stiasny has already shown promise against elite opposition in 2025, notably finishing fifth on the summit finish at Vuelta a Burgos and taking her first professional victory at the uphill time trial Grand Prix Boquerรณn in El Salvador. โ€œHuman Powered Health has always been a team from the outside I wanted to join not only because of how professional it is, but how it feels like a family atmosphere,โ€ she said. โ€œThis is what I like in a team. Iโ€™m excited to be a part of the climbing squad.โ€

General manager Ro De Jonckere praised both her results and her potential. โ€œShe is an exceptional young rider with impressive climbing talent and huge growth potential. We are very proud to support her development at the highest level.โ€

Stiasny will first meet her new teammates at the Human Powered Health Performance Lab in Massachusetts in October. A nutrition science student, she is particularly interested in how the teamโ€™s scientific approach can support her growth. โ€œTo meet the whole team and everyone behind the athletes is exciting. I study nutrition science, so Iโ€™m very interested in everything the lab does. I love data in my training, so Iโ€™m curious to track all of these variables in the lab.โ€

Her path into cycling is relatively recent. Initially a middle-distance runner, injury and the COVID-19 pandemic shifted her focus to the bike, where she quickly excelled in hill climb events before turning professional in 2022. โ€œThis year was the first year I felt it all started to work because it takes a few years to ride consistently into it. When I started, I loved tracking my progress, and then in 2022, I got into racing and never looked back.โ€

Away from training and racing, Stiasny describes herself as a cycling enthusiast who watches as many races as possible, while also balancing her studies and a love of baking. She now looks forward to progressing at WorldTour level with Human Powered Health, targeting further success in the mountains as she continues her development.
