The Umag Trophy Ladies returns for its third edition in 2025, continuing as a UCI 1.2 race on the European calendar. The 114km route follows a familiar format, featuring four laps, each including a gradual climb but no major tests to shake things up. While the course allows for attacking racing, recent editions suggest it favours the sprinters – if their teams can keep things under control.

ToggleLast year, the race ended in a sprint from a large group of 43 riders, with Sara Fiorin of UAE Development Team taking the win ahead of Michela De Grandis of Team Mendelspeck. In contrast, 2023 saw a very different scenario, with Alessia Vigilia making a solo move stick to win by 23 seconds ahead of Anastasia Carbonari, who is back on the start list this year. That edition saw a significant split in the race, with the first ten riders finishing more than three minutes ahead of the rest of the peloton.
With the course unchanged, the big question for 2025 is whether attacking riders can break free or if another mass sprint is on the cards. If teams with fast finishers take control, a bunch kick seems inevitable – but as history has shown, well-timed aggression could still turn the race on its head.
