Alé BTC Ljubljana back in the race at Amstel Gold Race

The Alé BTC Ljubljana team returns to the race tomorrow, Sunday 18th April, for another great classic of the international UCI Women’s WorldTour calendar, the Amstel Gold Race in the Netherlands.

The race measures 116 kilometres in total and will take place on a circuit that is closed to the public – due to restrictions caused by the pandemic – and will largely follow the circuit of the 2012 UCI World Championships in Valkenburg.

Seven laps and 21 climbs are on the menu for the day, which will feature, among others, the Geulhemmerberg, Bemelerberg and, above all, the Cauberg, with its tough gradients to be tackled less than two kilometres from the finish line in Berg en Terblijt.

The start will be very early, at 8.45am, with the finish scheduled for around 11.45am to allow the men’s race to take place on the same circuit. It will be possible to follow the last hour of the women’s race live from 11.05am on Eurosport, Eurosport player and GCN.
