The Partnership with ScienceOfCycling Italia for the preparation of athletes is born.
The Alé BTC Ljubljana Cipollini team is ready for the new 2021 season and from Wednesday 9th to Friday 11th December, will be a guest at the Enjoy Garda Hotel in Peschiera del Garda for the first training camp.
The team will be divided into groups to guarantee the current safety regulations, social distancing and respect for the bubble and the athletes will undergo medical examinations, aptitude tests and material tests during these days.
From this season, the only Italian UCI Women’s WorldTour team has chosen to avail itself of the support of ScienceOfCycling Italia in the person of its founder Simone Casonato, who will join the performance team as coach of the Italian team and will be responsible for carrying out physiological tests and support in assessing the athletes. “The girls will undergo Vo2max tests and physiological assessments in order to prepare themselves in the best possible way for the 2021 season – says Simone Casonato, sports scientist -. Throughout the season we will carry out a series of assessments and the athletes will have the best assessment technologies applied to cycling, to monitor and evaluate the performance parameters and work in agreement with all the technical staff”.
With Simone Casonato, in the performance team, there will be another technical expert with great experience in the men’s professional world like Michele Devoti who, specifically, will monitor the athletes through the TrainingPeaks platform and together they will follow the athletic preparation of the team.
Casonato will take care of physiological and biomechanical tests and also the personal preparation of some athletes. “I’m very happy to work with Alé BTC Ljubljana Cipollini, an Italian team with top international athletes and great ambitions,” concluded Simone Casonato.
