Career overview

Knijnenburg came to cycling after a strong middle-distance running career, having won Dutch titles over 800 metres and indoor 1500 metres before switching sports. She moved quickly through the Dutch club scene with WV Schijndel, winning the Dutch amateur road race title in 2023 before earning a move to Parkhotel Valkenburg. With the VolkerWessels structure, she took her first professional victory at Cyclis Classic in 2024 and added mountains classifications at the Giro della Toscana Femminile and Tour of Chongming Island. Her breakthrough came in 2025, when she won the overall title and mountains classification at the Women’s WorldTour-level Tour of Chongming Island.
