Ethan Vernon and Krists Neilands sign through 2029 as NSN renew four riders

NSN Cycling Team have secured the futures of four riders beyond 2026, with Ethan Vernon and Krists Neilands extending through to the end of 2029, while Pier-André Côté and Floris Van Tricht have signed new deals through 2028.

The four renewals give the WorldTeam continuity across very different roles. Vernon has been one of NSN’s most productive winners in 2026, Neilands remains one of the longest-serving riders in the organisation, while Côté and Van Tricht have developed into dependable support riders who can also take opportunities for themselves.

General manager Kjell Carlström said keeping the quartet was important for the team’s plans over the next few seasons, pointing to their mix of ambition, experience and reliability. NSN have already begun shaping their 2027 squad around a combination of retained riders and new arrivals, including Santiago Buitrago, who will join on a three-year contract.

Vernon rewarded after four-win season

Vernon, who turned 26 in August, has been one of the clearest success stories of NSN’s 2026 campaign. His victory on the shortened fourth stage of the Tour Down Under in January delivered the team’s first win in its new NSN colours, and he later won stage 4 of the Volta a Catalunya in Camprodon.

The British sprinter has taken four victories in total this season alongside 13 other top-five finishes. His new deal runs for another three seasons, reflecting both what he has already delivered and the expectation that there is more to come. Vernon said he was “really happy to be extending with the team” and wants to continue developing while contributing to NSN’s wider progress.

His range has also been useful beyond straightforward bunch sprints. At the Tour Down Under he won on an uphill drag after a shortened, nervous stage, while his Catalunya victory came after more than 2,000 metres of climbing. That ability to survive harder days gives NSN more freedom in how they use him.

Neilands set for 11th season with the team

Neilands has also agreed terms through 2029, meaning 2027 will be his 11th season with the organisation. The 32-year-old Latvian has become one of the team’s most experienced riders and completed his sixth Tour de France this summer, more than any other current NSN rider.

His value is not built around one narrow role. Neilands can ride for breakaways, support leaders on hilly terrain and contribute deep into difficult one-day races. He described the team as a place where he has “grown up” as a rider and said the focus remains collective, whether the final winner is himself or a teammate.

Côté and Van Tricht continue through 2028

Côté and Van Tricht have both extended for a further two seasons. Their connection with the team dates back to 2024, when they were part of the development squad before moving into the WorldTeam structure.

Côté, 29, has become a regular domestique across both stage races and one-day events, while also taking his own chances when the opportunity appears. He represented Canada at the home World Championships in Montréal last month and has spoken about the progress he has made supporting leaders in decisive moments of hard races.

Van Tricht’s 2026 results have shown a similar blend of support work and personal ambition. The Belgian finished on the podium at both the Ronde van Limburg and Muur Classic Geraardsbergen, and his next target is a first professional victory in 2027. He also pointed to his contribution to Corbin Strong’s Circuit Franco-Belge win as the other side of his role within the team.

NSN’s four renewals preserve a useful spread of qualities within the squad. Vernon offers wins, Neilands brings experience across the calendar, and Côté and Van Tricht give the team riders who can work for others without losing the ability to produce results themselves. With all four now secured beyond next season, NSN have another part of their 2027 roster settled early.
