First time for Canyon SRAM at De Brabantse Pijl

Our team will line up for UCI 1.1. De Brabantse Pijl in Belgium on Wednesday 7 October. The team’s roster will be British road champ, Alice Barnes, Tiff Cromwell, Lisa Klein, Hannah Ludwig, Jess Pratt and Christa Riffel.

“For me Brabantse Pijl is a new race which is a rarity for me. So it’s a little unfamiliar. It’s only been on the women’s calendar for a couple of years,” said Tiff.

“I think the key moment will come in the final circuits. You have many back to back climbs on those laps which should give a lot of opportunities for hard racing and attacks. The wind looks strong though and there’s a section leading into the circuits that is going to be cross/tail. So that could also be a dangerous moment that could make a difference.”

“For me personally I’ve looked at this race and thinks it’s something can suit me. My personal goal is to be fighting all the way to the finish with a goal of being able to contest the finish that’s going for the win. I’ve been feeling strong lately and my head is still fresh. So I want to race well and fight all the way to the end and see what I can do. Or help play an important role in setting up someone else in the team for the finish.”

Tiff’s teammate, Alice Barnes is hoping for a result to give her confidence going into the last races of the season.

“I’m looking forward to the race and hoping to be active where I can and see where my chance is. I would love to come away with a result that can give me confidence into the next races,” said Alice.

The race will be live-streamed from the start at 10:50CEST on Eurosport, GCN race pass app, and Proximus Pickx. It can be followed on Twitter with #BPwomen.
