First WorldTour race of the season for NXTG

This Thursday NXTG Racing starts in its first UCI Women’s WorldTour race of the season. The Oxyclean Classic Brugge-De Panne is a one-day, long race near the Belgian coast and through the windy Moeren region. Echelons are always a risk but the team is ready to fight the wind. Charlotte Kool will be the dedicated sprinter and Mylène de Zoete is her last woman in the sprint train. She previews the race.

This race is a flat race and it’s known as a sprinter’s race. However, it can be a lot trickier than that. The weather predictions indicate a wind force of 3 to 4 coming from the southwest. The danger of echelons along the 158,8 long kilometre is real on many locations. It can give us a great echelon race. I hope we can be at the front as a team when this happens so we can get our sprinter Charlotte in a good position for that final sprint.

Mylène and Charlotte will be joined on Thursday by Shari Bossuyt, Britt Knaven, Ilse Pluimers and Emily Wadsworth for one of the longest races of the season. You can watch it live on Sporza, Eurosport and GCN + from 3pm CET.
