Five medals between Wild and Brennauer at Track World Championships

WNT Rotor Pro Cycling had two riders representing their countries at the Track Cycling World Championships in Pruszkow, Poland; Lisa Brennauer for Germany and Kirsten Wild for the Netherlands. An amazing five medals won between them and two world titles.

Wild racing in famous Orange of the Netherlands, added another two world titles to her palmares. Winning the Omnium with 177 points beating 2nd place by a narrow two points. Later on in the week she doubled her rainbow bands winning the Madison with Amy Pieters. The two being Olympic events puts Wild in great stead in build up for Tokyo 2020.

Brennauer concentrated on the timed events, a fast team pursuit for Germany put them close to the medals finishing 6th. But it was the individual pursuit that Brennauer thrived, setting a new German record, 3:25.697 to qualify fastest, unfortunately it wasn’t to be as Brennauer had to settle with silver in the final, it was a great display of speed and shows the strength in depth in women’s track racing at the moment.

Through the week Wild added another two medals to her haul. Winning Bronze in the Points race and narrowly avoiding a heavy crash to finish with Silver in the Scratch Race. A solid week of racing for both and a fantastic way to finish the winter season as we make our start towards the long road season.
