Grant Thornton-Krush Bikes-Tunap Sports ride first-ever Scheldeprijs

The very first Scheldeprijs for women will be held in Schoten on 7 April.ย Grant Thornton-Krush Bikes-Tunap Sports is proud to send a six-man squad to the race.

The 136-kilometre race is a race of which the men’s version is also known as the ‘world championship for sprinters’.ย In the women’s competition, a sprint is obvious, although the riders of Grant Thorton-Krush Bikes-Tunap Sports also take other scenarios into account.

After the start at 11.10 a.m. CET in the centre of Schoten, an extensive loop to the northeast of the starting place will first be completed.ย Via Sint-Job-in-‘t-Goor, Brecht, Loenhout, Hoogstraten, Rijkevorsel and again Brecht, theย Krush Bikesย ofย Melanie Klement, Quinty Ton, Nienke Wasmus, Melissa van Neck, Clara Lundmark and Daniek Hengeveld will be the local route of 16 kilometres.ย After three and a half laps, the finish will be on Churchilllaan.

โ€œIt will be a hectic race, especially with the predicted weather conditions.ย During the race, communication and alertness will be crucial.ย In the closing local circuits in Schoten, small details will make the difference.ย For us it is important to operate together and seize the opportunities where possible. โ€

For the fans ofย Grant Thornton-Krush Bikes-Tunap Sportsย who want to see the team in action, there is good news.ย Images of the match can be seenย via Eurosport, GCN, Sporza andย Proximusย from 11.45 am (CET).ย The finish is scheduled between 2.30 pm and 3 pm.
