The Omloop Het Nieuwsblad will mark the first race of the 2021 road season for the Arkéa Pro Cycling Team.

“ The Omloop Het Nieuswblad will this year be both the first classic on the calendar and the very first continental road race that we will have to compete in. It’s a very tough competition. It was a tense race from start to finish due to the placement, the paved areas and often bad weather on race day including the wind. It is “THE” Flemish classic par excellence “
” A test that forgives nothing “
“ I like this type of race, after that it is also an event that does not forgive anything. It is really necessary that the day “D” all the planets are aligned. It is certainly advisable to have good legs on the “big day”, but also to be lucky, and not to experience mechanical problems of any kind “
” Take good automatisms “
“We are going, we team Arkéa Pro Cycling Team, take back our marks, try to set up automatisms within the team: to position ourselves well, communicate well, afterwards I would undoubtedly have more a role of road captain. I have competed in this event at least five times. My mission could be to bring my experience of this classic to the youngest members of the Arkéa Pro Cycling Team ”.

Franck Renimel : “ The Omloop Het Nieuwsblad women will be a discovery for most of the workforce. In fact, apart from Gréta Richioud, none of the girls in the Arkéa Pro Cycling Team formation has competed in this event. Our race program includes until the end of April the entire “Belgian campaign” reserved for women. It will be a discovery in certain competitions such as this edition of the Omloop Het Nieuwsblad, with the desire to do well. We want to exist in these events by showing a real desire to perform, while taking advantage of these great experiences that we will be given to compete in such events ”.

Marie-Morgane Le Deunff: “ What a real pleasure for my very first race in the Arkéa Pro Cycling Team jersey to discover a classic such as the Het Nieuwsblad. I will try to gain as much experience as possible during this day, on this cobbled classic at the start of the season ”.

Gréta Richioud and Marie-Morgane Le Deunff will compete at the Het Nieuswblad in their very first competition under the colours of Team Arkéa Pro Cycling.

In order to create cohesion and experience sharing between the men’s team, Arkéa-Samsic, and the women’s training, Arkéa Pro Cycling Team, structures both Managed by Emmanuel Hubert, our two training courses will be housed in the same establishment – with compliance with the sanitary measures in force – for the start of the Belgian classics campaign.
