Anna Henderson, Riejanne Markus, Emma Norsgaard, and Niamh Fisher-Black have showcased their new Lidl-Trek jerseys as they prepare for the 2025 season with the team. The quartet, who join Lidl-Trek from various top teams, bring fresh energy and ambitions to the squad.
Henderson and Markus both make the transition from Visma | Lease a Bike. Henderson has previously shown her strength in one-day races, while Markus, the Dutch national champion, brings a wealth of experience, consistency and time-trial ability. Henderson is a strong one-day rider and can contest smaller stage races, especially if there is a prologue involved to establish some time gaps. Riejanne Markus is always on the cusp of becoming a GC rider but it hasn’t always played out well for her. She is strong against the clock and a strong climber, albeit maybe not the highest tier. She will be looking to develop on her new team and move up the GC rungs.
Emma Norsgaard arrives from Movistar, where she made a name for herself with her sprinting and one-day classics riding. She expressed her excitement at the move, saying, “I can’t wait to see what we can achieve together next season.” Already a winner of a Tour de France Femmes stage, the Dane has transitioned away from sprinting to taking on races at the front, using the time-trialling engine to go on the attack.
Niamh Fisher-Black, meanwhile, comes from SD Worx, where GC opportunities were sometimes limited in a packed roster. The New Zealander is set to take on a more prominent role at Lidl-Trek. “This move feels like the right step for me. I’m excited to see how far I can go with more responsibility,” she shared. The Kiwi would be able to get a chance to shine on a Lidl-Trek roster that is looking for someone to step up and fill the gap left by Elisa Longo Borghini who moved across to UAE Team ADQ this off-season.
The riders, who have all been performing at a high level in recent seasons, are expected to strengthen Lidl-Trek’s ambitions across a range of races in 2025. Their unveiling marks an exciting chapter for the team as they gear up for the challenges ahead.
