ITT world championships

Our riders had some stellar performances at the ITT Road World Championships in Yorkshire, UK!

Lisa Klein 5th

“I’m happy with my fifth place. I mean, two seconds to fourth it would also have been great, but it wasn’t so.”

“The course was good and the conditions were brutal. I had a good run technically. The technical sections went well, in the downhill especially, I handled my bike really well and I’m proud of that. The first part of the race, the first 7km wasn’t really that good and I struggled to get my rhythm. But I fought with myself, I didn’t panic, and I was able to get into my rhythm eventually, so I can be pleased with that.”

“The course was tough in the end with all of the climbs in the end, but everyone knows that the big highlights in the future, like Tokyo Olympics, will be even harder. it was good to be up there in the mix yesterday.”

“I was super nervous. My first start in the ITT at worlds. Now I take a deep breath, I can be happy that it’s done and it went well.”

Alena Amialiusik 9th

“I am happy with my result. I am so happy be in the top 10 today and it means a lot for me! The course was hard technically, and especially with that heavy rain it was brutal, but I loved this course from the first time I saw it.”

Omer Shapira 13th

“The course was cool, I think the fact it was not a fast course played in my favour. The conditions on the course were brutal, so I tried to take it easy and safe on the corners and on the technical parts and to push myself on the others part. I feel really good with my race! My preparation for the ITT wasn’t ideal so the expectations were in line with that. But I surprised myself. I managed it well, and I am happy with my result!”

Alice Barnes 16th

“I liked the course. It had a bit of everything. It was tough with the climbs but had some nice technical sections too. The crowds were amazing even with the torrential rain and it really did help to push harder. I am fairly happy with my result. I rode it how I wanted to and have it all I had. There is a lot of work to do to be fighting for top positions in the future but it is a good step forward.”

Rotem Gafinovitz 37th

“I punctured after 8km, changed wheel, but then needed to change wheel again and so I just changed bikes. It completely took away my rhythm. I’m disappointed. Today was my main focus at worlds and I had been feeling good. I just need to put it behind me and look forward to Saturday’s road race now.”
