Mareczko expressed his contentment about joining the team, stating, “I am overjoyed to be a part of Team corratec – Selle Italia. It feels like returning home for me. I am familiar with some of the teammates already and am deeply grateful for the trust the team has placed in me. I am committed to doing my utmost to honour that trust.”

Serge Parsani, the Team Manager, also shared his enthusiasm regarding Mareczko’s decision to race with them, “I’ve known Jakub well since I was his sports director at Southeast in 2015. That year, he demonstrated his exceptional sprinting talent, bringing us considerable joy. At 29, he still has substantial potential for achieving impressive results, remaining as one of the few pure sprinters currently active in the sport.”

Mareczko’s career includes notable participation in the Vuelta a España in October 2020, where his best performance was a third-place finish in the fourth stage. In November of the same year, he signed a two-year agreement with the Vini Zabù team, starting from the 2021 season. Following the disbandment of Vini Zabù at the end of 2021, Mareczko joined Alpecin–Fenix for the 2022 season.
