Julia Soek (Retired)
Julia Soek is a retired Dutch cyclist who spent much of her professional career as a road captain and lead-out rider at the highest level of women’s cycling. She raced for the Giant-Shimano, Liv-Plantur, Sunweb and DSM organisation for eight seasons, combining support work with strong performances of her own in one-day races. Soek won the Erondegemse Pijl in 2017 and contributed to a Giro Rosa team time-trial victory before retiring at the end of 2021 and moving into sports management.

Career overview
Soek joined Sengers Ladies Cycling Team in 2013 before moving to Team Giant-Shimano the following season and remaining with the organisation through its Liv-Plantur, Sunweb and DSM identities. Primarily valued as a lead-out rider and road captain, she also achieved several notable individual results, including eighth at the 2016 WorldTour race in Vårgårda and victory at the Erondegemse Pijl in 2017. Soek was part of Team Sunweb’s winning team time-trial squad on the opening stage of the 2018 Giro Rosa. She retired from professional racing at the end of 2021 and immediately moved into a sports director role, first with Drops-Le Col before joining the TDT-Unibet organisation, now Unibet Rose Rockets.
