Julie Bego has re-signed with Cofidis, extending her contract until 2027. The young rider expressed her delight at the new deal, highlighting a successful start to the season and her enjoyment of the team environment. She joined Cofidis before the 2024 season, straight out of the junior ranks.
“I am very happy to re-sign until 2027,” Bego said. “It has been an almost perfect start to the season for me. I have discovered many great races and achieved good results. I get along well with all the girls on the team, so it seemed logical to extend and continue to progress within this team.”
Bego noted the excellent atmosphere within the team, balancing seriousness with enjoyment. “The team spirit is great. We are serious but not too serious; there is a really good vibe. We are here to have fun too, and that is something I have really loved.”
Looking ahead, Bego is excited about her first Grand Tour, the Giro d’Italia Women, which she will experience this year. “I am discovering the Giro this year; it will be my first Grand Tour. I am not sure what to expect yet, but I would like to try to target a stage, get into breakaways, and see how I can handle eight days of racing. So, it is going to be all new for me.”
Bego is also enthusiastic about her long-term goals, particularly the Grand Tours and the Ardennes Classics. “In the coming years, the races that I dream about are the Grand Tours, of course, and the Tour de France, which has made me dream since I was very little. And also the Ardennes Classics, which I discovered this year, especially Liรจge-Bastogne-Liรจge, which I really enjoyed.”
