Welcome to live coverage of stage 4 of La Vuelta Femenina, where the peloton faces 111km of medium mountain terrain from Pedrola to Borja. With two categorised climbs and a rolling finale, this is a stage with the potential to stir up the GC and offer opportunities to breakaway hopefuls.
The decisive section is expected to come in the final 15km. The category 2 climb to El Buste is sharp enough to break things apart and could invite late attacks from GC contenders or stage hunters. From there, a fast descent into Borja could favour a solo rider brave enough to go clear – or a small group sprinting it out if gaps remain tight.
Femke Gerritse starts the day in the red jersey after her victory in Huesca yesterday, with Marianne Vos and Letizia Paternoster both 12 seconds behind. With up to 16 bonus seconds available today, it’s still possible to see a change in leadership if Gerritse falters on the climbs or is caught out late on. Expect more GC clarity by the time we reach Borja.
