The opening stage of the 2025 Setmana Ciclista Valenciana sees the regular stage to Gandia. Recent years have been the repeated finale with the Alta de Barxeta and Alto de Barx crested before a drop into Gandia which usually ends up being a sprint that Elisa Balsamo wins. Last year she beat Marianne Vos and Noemi Rüegg here but neither of those riders will be racing. The 2023 edition saw the most exciting finish however with Elise Uijen and Justine Ghekiere able to finish 16 seconds clear, ensuring that Ghekiere would win the GC by a single second. Balsamo won’t have it all her own way though this year with the likes of Eleonora Gasparrini surely able to contest this sprint after clearing the climbs.
