Margot Pompanon (Retired)

Margot Pompanon is a retired French cyclist who spent three seasons racing professionally with St Michel-Auber 93. A versatile rider suited to hilly races and breakaways, she competed in two editions of the Tour de France Femmes, La Vuelta Femenina and three Paris-Roubaix Femmes. Pompanon ended her professional career in 2024 following medical complications from a heavy crash the previous season.

Career overview

Pompanon returned to competitive cycling on the road in 2019 and joined St Michel-Auber93’s national-level programme in 2020 before turning professional when the team stepped up to UCI Continental level in 2022. She finished sixth at the 2022 Grand Prix International d’Isbergues and completed her first Tour de France Femmes that summer. Pompanon returned to the Tour in 2023, also riding La Vuelta Femenina and recording a career-best UCI result of fourth on a stage of the Tour Cycliste Féminin International de l’Ardèche. A serious crash at that race led to prolonged medical problems and several operations. She returned to competition in 2024 but decided to end her professional career later that year.
