Movistar Men 2024 Jersey

The Movistar Team, one of the longest-standing teams in professional cycling, revealed their team and plans for the 2024 season this morning. It also included a fresh jersey design and a focus on new and returning talent. At the heart of their campaign is the celebration of Telefónica’s centenary year, marking a significant milestone for the team’s main sponsor.

The announcement was made at the Telefónica Auditorium in Madrid, showcasing the men and women’s teams’ mix of experienced and emerging riders. The 2024 lineup features 14 new members, adding to the team’s depth and diversity. The jersey for the new season, created by GOBIK, features lighter tones and incorporates the #Telefonica100 logo, reflecting the centenary celebration. The addition of the VIVO brand, representing Telefónica’s presence in Brazil, also marks a new chapter for the team.

Nairo Quintana, a key figure in Movistar’s success over the last three decades, returns to the team for the Giro d’Italia and the Vuelta a España. His presence bolsters a men’s team that includes Enric Mas and Iván García Cortina, among others. Notable newcomers include Lorenzo Milesi, Rémi Cavagna, and Davide Formolo, alongside Spanish talents such as Javier Romo and Jon Barrenetxea.

The women’s team, with 14 riders, is strengthened by the addition of Olivia Baril and Claire Steels. They join established riders like Liane Lippert and Emma Norsgaard, aiming for a more united and balanced approach. The team also pays tribute to Annemiek van Vleuten, who retired in September, recognising her significant contribution to the team’s success.

The 2024 season will see Movistar Team participating in various races across Europe, America, and the Asia/Pacific region. Telefónica’s commitment to promoting cycling, especially among women through the Women in Bike initiative, continues to be a key aspect of the team’s strategy.

The season kicks off with the men’s criterium at the Tour Down Under in Adelaide and the women’s team starting their campaign in Mallorca. The team rosters for 2024 showcase a blend of experience and new talent, promising an exciting season ahead.
