In a very fast race Rachele Barbieri took her second win of the season in a bunch sprint.
On forehand Liv Racing Xstra aimed for a bunch sprint in the 25th edition of the Omloop der Kempen . After a fast race with several breakaway attempts, the race finished in a sprint. Liv Racing Xstra managed to do a proper lead out for Rachele Barbieri, who finished off the work of her team mates. For Barbieri and the team it is the second win of the season.
“I am very happy! We were always in control during the race. The girls were amazing today. I think we really deserved to win. In the last kilometres we did a really good lead-out. Amber was strong in the last kilometre and delivered me at 150 metres from the line, where I launched my sprint and gave it all to the line. I am delighted that I could finish off the work. For the team this is also a nice victory. We had some bad luck the last weeks. This win can help to boost our morale for the next races”, Barbieri told after the race.
Sportsdirector Wim Stroetinga was of course satisfied after the race. “The whole team rode very well the whole race and we took control of the peloton in every situation. In the final kilometres our sprint train was there and delivered Rachele in a perfect way. This is really a team victory and gives us morale for the next races.”
